Maus Hábitos
The Missing Revolution is an exhibition/artwork that temporarily transforms the Maus Habitos exhibition room into the headquarters of a possible political and artistic movement dedicated to the collective reflection on the idea of Revolution in 2017. Included in Saco Azul’s art program for 2017 "And Now", the project underlines the urgency of a collective reflection on contemporaneity and its apparent lack of change.
The exhibition forges a space for a pseudo-fictional revolution, which takes place between the simulation and the reality of a potential movement or collective. It provides a place to the problematization and materialization of current feelings such as constant impermanence, non-concretization and missing. Focusing on both the political and the artistic fields, it questions how the transition from a comprehension of the world in a linear form to a constantly mutating one (a net form where everything happens simultaneously) affects our ability to act.
Throughout the exhibition the group of artists and curators gathered here offers different perspectives on the idea of revolution, from underlying ideologies and historical development, to its pertinence, effectiveness or obsolescence today.
The room becomes a device of dialogue, sharing, creation and action, drawing a meta-space in constant mutation, simultaneously intimate and open. Built and activated by the collective and guests in various spontaneous or programmed moments, such as conversations, meetings, performances, meals, readings and presentations, the project transforms artists, guests, friends and public into an ephemeral, yet real, community of a movement to come.
