Com dois filhos emigrados tenho passado bastante tempo em aeroportos. Comecei a filmar para distrair a tristeza das horas de despedida. 

O aeroporto passou a ser um lugar de interesse. Observar viajantes, trabalhadores, máquinas. 

É um “não lugar” onde se consegue ser invisível e filmar quase sem constrangimentos.

Na edição vou experimentando até o resultado ser quase hipnótico.

With two sons who have emigrated, I have spent a lot of time in airports. I started filming to distract myself from the sadness of saying goodbye.

The airport became a place of interest. Observing travellers, workers, machines.

It is a ‘non-place’ where you can be invisible and film almost without embarrassment.

In editing, I experiment until the result is almost hypnotic.

Ana Deus 

Nasceu em Santarém em 1963 e vive no Porto desde 1981.

Sempre se interessou por música, poesia e imagem, tendo frequentado sem concluir o Curso Superior de Pintura da Árvore (agora ESAP). Em 1993, iniciou, com a escritora Regina Guimarães e o músico Alexandre Soares, o grupo Três Tristes Tigres.

Tem vindo a interessar-se cada vez mais por cidades e lugares de trânsito (aeroportos, gares, estações, ruas), filmando, editando e explorando, com cortes e montagem, dinâmicas de tempo e espaço.

Born in Santarém in 1963 and lives in Porto since 1981.

She has always been interested in music, poetry and image, having attended but not completed the bachelor's degree in Painting at Árvore (now ESAP). In 1993, she founded the group Três Tristes Tigres with writer Regina Guimarães and musician Alexandre Soares.

She has become increasingly interested in cities and places of transit (airports, stations, streets), filming, editing and exploring, with cuts and montage, the dynamics of time and space.
