Final presentation of the residence between Porto (Saco Azul/Maus Hábitos) and Clermont-Ferrand (Artiste en Résidence)

Luc Avargues and Luísa Abreu switched city for a month. Luc came to Porto and Luísa went to Clermont-Ferrand, and in different cities developed an artistic research work that now comes together in this exhibition.

Luc seeks to understand and distinguish the fabric that ties the apparent complexity of the world and the ambient noise it generates, trying to grasp its peculiarity in his work. In this residence he continued his research on art and food. “The kitchen is our mirror, it returns what we are and how we think our lives. Linking food to art is more than a wedding. This is getting to meet two of the most beautiful things on earth.”

Luísa in turn explores the endless variations of the relationship between man and object, analysing typical actions such as accu- mulate and collect, from which she raises reflections that extract the plurality of objects, giving them a unique content, bringing to light specific matters about group iden- tity between different relations as one and as multiple. In this residency her work was developed around the volcano chain from the region of Clermont-Ferrand and local pneumatic industry.
