After a successful online edition in March, which surpassed the mark of 10,000 views, the BEAST International Film Festival now extends its program to the traditional cinemas of Porto, which have always welcomed the festival. Since 2017, the event has functioned in the city as a complex channel of contemporary culture of Central and Eastern Europe for the Portuguese public.

The Focus Country section of BEAST IFF acted this year as a window into Romanian culture through the attentive and sensitive eye of its filmmakers. This special program aims to highlight the power of narrative based on real events, as well as the talent and creativity of the region's directors.

Inserted in the section is the documentary feature "O Jardim Soviético", which premieres on the big screens in Portugal through our partners from Maus Hábitos - Cultural Intervention Space, on May 12, at 9:30 pm.
