Volkan Diyaroglu is the chosen artist to integrate one of the cycles of artistic residency of Maus Hábitos in Oporto, and will be at the beginning of August to create a set of unpublished works that will be presented in what will be his twentieth solo exhibition.

Exploring the double meaning of the word emerge, Volkan portrays the state of emergency that sets in on world politics and economy and its effects on the environment and the daily lives of citizens. Through painting, print and sculpture, Diyaroglu reflects on the permeability of the democratic fabric to nationalist issues, attacks on freedom and monetary imperialism.The inauguration is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. on August 9th, in the exhibition room of Porto.

The initiative integrates the Caravan cycle, a project carried out by the Saco Azul Cultural Association in partnership with the Porto City Council.
